Myra
with her first Mastiff, Chief Cochise
Years
ago the love of Veterinary Medicine led to my graduate
degrees in Biological Science and later my postgraduate
degree in Animal Sciences. During my study in Animal
Sciences, dogs became a part of my life. Since the age of
three I have had a special interest in all dogs and have
come to develop a close affinity with the canine species.
Over the years I have owned to more than ten different
breeds from sporting, non-sporting, and working breeds. The
list of which includes the Afghan Hound, German Short Haired
Pointer, St. Bernard, Chow Chow, Boxer, Golden Retriever,
Pointer, English Bulldog, and Rottweiler, and several
crossbreeds as well. However, the Mastiff eventually won
over my heart. My interest in Mastiffs emerged after the
loss of my Rottweiler, Hans, |

Pictured here, Hans, Myra’s dearly missed Rottweiler. Forever
the consummate student of Animal Sciences and now Mastiffs,
I am committed to the improvement of the breed through
discriminating selection and giving abundant love. My
experience with dogs also includes temperament testing and
therapy work with the elderly and carting. Over the years I
have also cultivated dog-training techniques that I use with
my own dogs and teach on occasion. It has been my unending
quest to educate the public about not only Mastiffs but also
dog awareness in general.
Our Dogs
Prairie Buffalo dogs are all
cared for on an intimate level. Each dog’s inner personality
is as important to us as his outward appearance. A happy
Mastiff shows well in the ring and can bring years of joy to
a family. Prairie Buffalo Mastiffs are known for the
temperament, type, pigment, beauty and soundness.
Geronimo is an example of a true A. K. C. standard
stud. He is majestic in his appearance, however not a hot
shot. He always insists on a wet kiss from newfound
friends.
Watch out because our emerging “Stars”
are really making an entrance! No one can doubt the winning
quality of Ch. Prairie Buffalo Chief Crazy Horse, son
of Winter. He gained his first championship at the
young age of 10 months, and is already set as our up and
coming Stud Dog. His mother, Ch. Prairie Buffalo
Winter Storm, who ranked number 9 in the country
in B.O.S in 2002, is very proud indeed of her son. She’s is
a 210 lb. bitch, solid, and is a true prize with a wonderful
temperament! Not only is she a winner in the ring, but also
she’s got a winning and loving personality. It looks like
her daughter Painted Pony is following in her
mother’s footsteps, weighing in at 200lbs. This sweet and
adorable giant will win over any heart. We would be remiss
to leave out Geronimo’s daughter, Ch. Prairie
Buffalo Rising Star, who also obtained her first
championship at 10 months; MCOA Sweeps, Supported entry.
Watch for our newest babies Prairie
Buffalo Apache Spirit and Prairie Buffalo Chief Comanche....
Look for them 2007.
